How long have you worked for Educators On Call?

I have worked with Educators on Call for almost four years.

As a returning guest teacher for EOC share one thing that you enjoy about being a part of the team.

One thing I enjoy about being a part of the team is that I get to positively impact the lives of children.

How has being an EOC guest teacher impacted your life?

As a guest teacher, I have grown as a person. I have become a better leader and I have even surprised myself with some abilities that I didn't know I had.

Any advice to new and future EOC guest teachers?

My advice to new teachers would be to learn from the multitudes of other teachers that you will come in contact with daily.

Happy Holidays! 'Tis the season for a little bit of giving! It is a time for sharing the spirit of love & kindness with those around us. It can be kind of hard to keep up with the many different causes and organizations trying to make a positive impact in the world. But it is our job to find a cause that warms our own hearts. Keeping a grateful attitude, let us acknowledge the many blessings in our lives and find creative ways to give back to our community, this holiday season. Each one of us has the power to make a difference and are capable of so much more than we imagine!

As Educators On Call and Tutors On Call is gearing up for our 7th Annual Book Drive, we encourage you to donate to our mission to end literacy deserts across the city of Philadelphia. Our youth is our future. What better way to engage them in learning than with the gift of reading. Find out more about how you can donate here.

Get involved with organizations like these this season and give back to your community:

Once again we, at EOC, would like to wish you a warm and wonderful holiday season. We extend a very special thanks to each and every educator who is committed to making a difference in a child's life. As the decade comes to a close, may the new year bring new challenges and abundant growth.

As we are approaching the season of giving let's get into the attitude of gratitude! It is time to be wholly grateful for all that we have and all that is yet to come. We, at EOC, have so much to be thankful for. But we're especially thankful for all of the kind spirits who contribute their love and knowledge to the youth. If you have the opportunity to make a positive impact in the life of a child, take it! Every little gesture and thought counts and will never be forgotten.

#GivingTuesday is known to be the global movement of generosity. On December 3rd, 2019, people from all across the world will gather with a similar mission in mind; to give back. It all started in the year 2012, with the mission to separate one full day dedicated to giving back to others. This grand movement encourages us to get up off of our feet and get involved with our own community. Find out what's happening near you and be a part of the movement!

In the coming months, Educators On Call and Tutors On Call will begin collecting donations in celebration of our 7th Annual Book Drive and Children's Book Week in collaboration with Treehouse Books. You can join in on the #GivingTuesday movement by making a monetary donation in support of the book drive here. The gift of reading is one of the most precious things you can give to a child. Reading holds the power of growth and imagination. It is an unforgettable spark that ignites their desire to learn! Give back, this season, by donating whatever you can to help spark the fire that can change the world.

"Any book that helps a child to form a habit of reading, to make reading one of his needs, is good for him." Maya Angelou
